By no longer relaying nerve transmission, spinal cord injuries cause severe motor and sensory disorders. NBM’s mission is to improve the healthcare offer for patients with spinal cord injuries by restoring mobility and sensations.

To achieve this, NBM has designed an innovative polymer biomaterial, SPINEREP, which serves as a template for allowing the regrowth of nerve fibres and their reconnection once positioned at the lesion site, an essential step to restore nerve transmission along the spinal cord axis. NBM’s plan is to conduct clinical trials in humans.
